Batu Caves

One of the best tourist spot that you should not miss is the Batu Caves. The enchanted temple and shrine has 272 steps which will enable you to climb and see the beautiful overlooking of the place. Beside the steep stairways is the giant statue of Lord Murugan who is one of Hindu's God. It also the tallest statue in Malaysia at 42.7 metres (140 ft) in height. It located at the Sir Murugan Perumal Kovil at the foot of Batu Caves. It took 3 years of construction and unveiled in January 2006 during Thaipusam festival. While going upstairs, you will able to see numbers of monkeys. Just be careful because they may take what you have on your hand!

HOW TO GET THERE?

Since the hotel we were in was walking distance from KL Sentral, the best transportation was to take the KTM Komuter. The dropping point is exactly at Batu Station so you will never get lost since at the Batu Station, you will see the giant statue of Lord Murugan.
At the entrance, you will see this giant statue of a person with the mouth of a monkey. Maybe this statue belongs to Gods of Hindus.

Aside from the stairs going to the top of the Batu Cave, there are other attractions around like the pond below where you can feed the fishes.

Aside from the fish, there are many birds around the place! There are also souvenir shops (even inside the cave upstairs) and restaurants.

So here we are! Let's go upstairs and see what it feels to be on top!

It was a breathtaking view of the whole place!

http://bosanchezmembers.com/amember/go.php?r=63611

We're almost there! Just stopping by to rest and take some pictures! Oxygen please! Just a few more steps...

Be careful of monkeys! This monkey is trying to get my husband's bottled water! Hahaha...

Inside the cave, you may see a lot of tourist, worshipers, monkeys, statues of Hindu's God, temple, souvenir shops, even chickens of those who were residing there, bats and birds. It feels weird to hear the sound of their worship songs but we need to respect their culture.

Another great experience that should not be missed! Thank God for this great experience!

Hotel Summer View in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

A view from the traffic light (pedestrian)
near KL Sentral

If you are planning to have a vacation, one of the biggest factor that should be consider is the accommodation. Upon browsing the internet for best deals, we found this Hotel Summer View (from Agoda).

Hotel Summer View is nicely located within a 7 minutes walking distance from the famous KL Sentral Station in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur. You may want to check their homepage : http://www.hotelsummerview.com/

It's a good thing that this hotel is located very near as walking distance from the KL Sentral. Upon arriving on Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), we ride on a bus from the airport to KL Sentral. The fare is RM10 for adult and half for child. It is free-seating also.

Since we don't have idea on how to get to our hotel, we asked an officer so we were really blessed that he told us the direction. We only need to get to the traffic light to cross the street and he said, just look up and you will see the hotel.

I am so glad to hear that because it seems that it is really near the KL Sentral and it is real!

PEOPLE AROUND THE HOTEL

Since the Hotel is located in Brickfields which is really near the Little India, the place is surrounded by Indians. I just don't like some taxi drivers who keep on insisting service. Taxi fare is expensive and not reasonable. It is also quite shocking that many motorists are using the walkway. They are really scary. They are also very reckless so tourists should be very careful. Blind people are also almost everywhere. It was really admirable that you see them as normal people walking around going to their work.

RESTAURANT and FOOD STALLS

This is the first meal I've had here in Kuala Lumpur. The restaurant is just outside the hotel. So heavy chicken meal for only RM6.00!

My daughter is enjoying the mix fruit juice for RM3.00.

This is for my husband, fish fillet heavy meal. (RM5.00)

The famous Old Town White Coffee
This is the last dinner that we had at Old Town White Coffee

This is what I love in this place. There are many food stalls where you can choose from finger foods up to heavy meals! I love Old Town White Coffee Restaurant. I never thought that there is one outside the hotel.

MALLS

Walking outside NU Sentral with my daughter Aliyah

The Sushi Restaurant located at the grocery area of NU Sentral

NU Sentral Mall is very near and the architecture is really good. It was located just beside the KL Sentral Station. Famous shopping stores and restaurants can be found here. You may also want to buy some foods to bring on your hotel.

TRANSPORTATION

Since the hotel is really near the KL Sentral, transportation is not really a burden.

STAFFS

Well, the staffs are friendly. They greet you and they open doors and elevators for you. I love it when they smile at us.

BREAKFAST

Everybody loves to enjoy the luxury of free breakfast in the hotel. Well the food is really delicious. The dining area is also cozy. I just don't know if the staffs on dining area are friendly because I haven't seen them smiling.

My husband is truly a heavy-eater! Hahaha...

My daughter with her favorite teddy

Oh my morning eyes! Good morning!

THE ROOM
Well, the room that we stayed in has 2 beds since we have our one year old baby with us. There is WiFi, telephone, old TV, safe, air-con, coffee set and other similar things that can be found in a hotel. The comfort room is so so. I just don't like that they don't even have toothbrush and toothpaste. They also don't have slippers. Though it is a little bit unsatisfactory, we still enjoyed our stay since we will just stay there to rest after going out all day.

They are enjoying the luxury of this room!

Why people change their names on Facebook

Recently, I received a lot of Friend Request from a friend of a friend on my list. Yes, my profile is very private. You cannot add me unless we have mutual friend. I also received some friend request from my relatives that are not really close to me. One day, I open my mother's facebook and intentionally open her inbox, I read from one of our relatives this:
"Kamusta po kayo? Si Raquel mukhang nakapangasawa ng mayaman ha."

I really want to reply her but it's a waste of time. So to avoid friend request from people like them, I decided to change my name (character) on Facebook using Katakana letters. Since I work from Japanese company, I can easily spell my name using katakana.

By the way, here are the reasons why people change their name on Facebook.

1. So people will not easily search you on Facebook. As you enjoy using this social media, some unavoidable friends on Facebook think differently about your posts like photos from places you've been. Some people think you are rich, some think you are lucky. Some people are happy for you but most of them wants something from you. With these reasons, some fb users never use their real names on Facebook.

2. It is the time to change your name to the name that you want. Some people don't like the names given by their parents. Only rich people can file and change their names legally unless there are wrong spelling on your NSO birth certificate.

3. To use celebrity names. Some people are so obsessed to their idols to the extent that they use their idol's name as well as their profile picture.

4. Getting married. Applicable to female only! :)

5. To avoid their boss from stalking their activities whenever they file a leave or whenever they are absent from work.

6. To avoid stalkers which is the same with number 1.

7. To use their group's name. This is hard to explain. In this generation, there are youngsters that I notice using "extended names" such as Given Name "Karma" Surname, Given Name "Maldita" Surname.

Feel free to add this info!

A moment of silence means...

As a mom with 3 year old daughter and a 5 month baby inside my womb, I get easily tired whenever my daughter, Aliyah, wants to play.

Here is our daily routine:

We wake up, of course, eat breakfast together but Aliyah wants to play immediately so I need to rush eating.

We play with her barbies mostly gifts to her by her Ninangs and Mommy (grandma).

We watch TV series particulary Star World program. Our favorite: Amazing Wedding Cake, DC Cupcake, Asia's Mext Top Model and Once Upon a Time.

We take shower together.
Lunch, watch It's Showtime but we never finish the show because we are taking afternoon nap.

Wake up and eat meryenda and watch Star World channel and ABS-CBN to wait for TV Patrol for news.

Dinner and play.

Wait for my husband's skype call.

Good night sleep.

These are the typical things we do everyday. But of course, with a kid, we cannot avoid arguing on things like what channel to watch, and convincing her to eat. We argue to what dress she should wear. Her favourite dresses were the blue one like Elsa's dress from Frozen and the purple one that she thinks was Anna's dress. I hate her seeing wearing dress that are not good on hot weather.

But today, there was a moment of silence. She's busy doing this stuff!

Ok. So as a mom, in a modern world, the first thing I did was this, take a photo! Haha, so when she grows up, I will show her how crazy it is to raise her! Haha Don't get me wrong. I really really really really really love and treasure her. Yes we fight a lot but I will do whatever it takes to protect her.

Being emotional during pregnancy

It's common to have mood swings during pregnancy, because of hormonal changes that affect your levels of neurotransmitters (chemical messengers in the brain) and the broad range of feelings you may have about becoming a parent. Everyone responds differently to these changes. Some moms-to-be experience heightened emotions, both good and bad; others feel more depressed or anxious. Most find that moodiness flares up at around 6 to 10 weeks, eases up in the second trimester, and then reappears as their pregnancy winds to a close.

Pregnancy can be a stressful and overwhelming time.

So here are the things that irritates me.

It was my 15th weeks pregnancy and as I read some article, it is now possible to discover my baby;s gender. I post the article I read (screenshot) to my Instagram and someone (follower) said that it is good to have ultrasound as early as that as she experienced from her 2 pregnancy in two different countries that blah blah blah then ended up saying it would be better if I also live with my husband (in Brunei) since the company can cover all the expenses for my pregnancy. I was really annoyed that time because it was not the first time na iniinggit nya ako (that's the what I think of her). On my old Instagram post (my craft projects), she told me it was beautiful and that I should live with my husband across the country because "we never know what would happen in the future blah blah blah". I told her before that we have our own house, our own car here in the Philippines and no one will look after our property unless we sell them. The second reason is, y husband is working offshore. If he goes to work (6 weeks) it's like living in a far country away from my relatives that I can call during emergency. It is difficult to live in Brunei without driving knowledge. You cannot go to grocery yourself if you don't know how to drive a car because I've never seen any public transpo in that country as everyone living there maybe own a car. Yes, I can drive but I m pregnant. I need to adjust because left hand drive and traffic is applied to Brunei. It would be very useless if me and my daughter will live there while the husband is working 6 weeks and very far away from us (offshore field engineer).

Another irritating thing. I'm on my bed rest yet someone inside our house told me it's nakakahinayang to not accept new invitation projects. So I told her, why? Are you the one talking to the clients? Kayo po ba ang nagdedesign??

What's more irritating is that it seems like they never understand my situation. They will tell you "Dapat kasi nakahiga ka lang eh" but they ignore my daughter when she needs something or kapag nangungulit sya. No one will run over except me, her own mother.

Another nakakairita are those extended family members na wala ng ginawa kundi gumawa ng poblema at mangdamay sa mga problema nila. They run to us whenever they need something (financial/ advice). And me as the youngest member of the family, am I old enough to give some piece of advice when it is actually obvious that they know what's wrong and what's right?!

Bleeding at 13 weeks pregnancy

So at this point of my life, I was diagnosed with placenta previa. I was advised for bed rest and take Duphaston and Duvadilan three times a day for seven days. But since my spotting never stops, I never stop the medication. So I took those pills for one month until my next pre-natal check up wherein, my OB changed my medication to Progesterone (Sex Hormone) three times a day for seven days. It was effective because, one the first day, my spotting was gone. Instead, I have white discharge maybe due to this new gel capsule that I used.

What is Placenta Previa?

This case happens when your placenta is lying low in the uterus or covering your cervix. In my case, based from my ultrasound, my placenta is covering the cervix. The placenta is the pancake-shaped organ – normally located near the top of the uterus – that supplies your baby with nutrients through the umbilical cord.

If you're found to have placenta previa early in pregnancy, it's not usually considered a problem. But if the placenta is still close to the cervix later in pregnancy, it can cause bleeding, which can lead to other complications and may mean that you'll need to deliver early. If you have placenta previa when it's time to deliver your baby, you'll need to have a cesarean section.

If the placenta covers the cervix completely, it's called a complete or total previa. If it's right on the border of the cervix, it's called a marginal previa. (You may also hear the term "partial previa," which refers to a placenta that covers part of the cervical opening once the cervix starts to dilate.) If the edge of the placenta is within two centimeters of the cervix but not bordering it, it's called a low-lying placenta.

The location of your placenta will be checked during your mid-pregnancy ultrasound exam (usually done between 16 to 20 weeks) and again later if necessary.

So what would I do?

I actually had my bed rest but not total bed rest because at that time, I still have 3 running projects for wedding invitation. It was really hard for me because, I was delayed to my client's target date for about 2 weeks. Thankfully, they understood my situation. So I told myself that after these projects, I will not accept bookings temporarily until next year.

I am hoping that my placenta "migrate" farther from my cervix.
